Turnover from continuing operations rose +4.1% for the 47 weeks ended 23 August. SPAR Southern Africa sales +3.5% (liquor +10.5%). Build it recovered +1.2% on the back of reduced load-shedding, while S Buys’ pharmaceutical +14.9%. BWG Group’s (Ireland & west England) turnover +2.6% in EUR and +7.0% in ZAR, but UK volumes declined. SPAR Switzerland -5.8% in CHF and +0.8% in ZAR. Poland -6.5% in PLN but +3.7% in ZAR. Results due 28 Nov.
