Sibanye-Stillwater plans to consult with labor and representatives regarding the restructuring of four shafts at its SA PGM operations. Two mature shafts will cease production due to ore reserve depletion, while two others need restructuring for sustainability. Rising costs and declining PGM prices have impacted industry profitability, making some shafts unprofitable. Up to 4,095 employees and contractors may be affected by these changes.
