Pre-close update: Grindrod’s commodity prices fell by an average of 19%, though chrome ore, copper, iron ore, and manganese prices rose by 2%. Security concerns in the Red Sea increased container rates, while cyclones and logistical challenges impacted terminal performance. The Port of Maputo achieved record volumes, up 17%, but dry bulk terminals in Mozambique handled 6% less, and South Africa’s volume rose by 27%.
