Trading statement: Worldsteel Association (WSA) forecasts a 1.7% increase in steel use in 2024, reaching 1.8 bn tonnes. China’s steel exports rose by 15% in the first five months of 2024 compared to 2023, with annual exports expected to surpass 100 million tonnes. ACL’s HLPS should worsen by between 140% to 160%, from a prior R0.40 loss per share to a loss within the range of R0.96 to R1.04 per share.
